Vegetation survey was held (2011) in Lahav forest (Northern Negev, Israel). The average annual precipitation is 270 mm, in the semi-arid Mediterenean region. The rock is hard chalk. The soil is loess and brown lithosol. The survey had done mostly along wadis and on hills between them. The vegetation is garigue of Thymelaea and Lycium, Bata of Sarcopoterium spinosum and Phlomis brachyodon or Noaea mucronata and Achillea santolina. the main herbaceous are Asphodelus ramosus, Leontice leontopetalum and Foeniculum vulgare. most of the species are Mediterranean phytogeographic origin, and the rest are Irano-Turanian and Saharo-Arabian.
